This public policy is generated from the same eighteen section headings and bodies packaged inside the Android app. Ember & Word has no Internet permission and transmits no app data. Optional local data remains subject to the security limits of the device.

Kamron Engler Ministries, Inc. is the responsible entity for Ember & Word, an offline Android application. This policy applies only to version 1.0.0 of the app and its app-managed data. It does not govern an operating system, app store, device manufacturer, or a website opened separately. Effective date: August 4, 2026.
The app is written primarily for adults. An adult may choose to use selected family-conversation prompts with other household members, but the adult remains responsible for age-appropriate language, supervision, consent, and real-world safeguarding. The app is not designed for unsupervised use by children and does not create child accounts or youth profiles.
Ember & Word provides original reflection paths, scripture references without reproduced translation text, a quiet timer, consent-aware conversation and service prompts, source-checking tools, a local bookmark function called Hold, one local action called Carry, optional short notes, safety boundaries, sources, and this policy. It is a field guide rather than a ministry registration, event, donation, directory, counseling, or emergency service.
The app does not collect or transmit personal data to Kamron Engler Ministries, Inc. or to a developer server. It has no Internet permission and no network code. It does not request names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise or approximate location, contacts, identifiers, photos, audio, files, payment information, health data, advertising data, or device telemetry. User-entered notes are not transmitted by the app.
The app may store the selected presentation mode, held-page identifiers, the current Carry title, and short user-entered notes in Android app preferences on the device. It may restore the open module and page after a configuration change from temporary instance state. These records exist only to provide the selected local function and are not used to score, rank, profile, or infer beliefs.
Ember & Word is not a secure pastoral record, case file, counseling record, incident log, health record, safeguarding database, or youth-management system. Users are instructed to use broad themes or initials and to avoid names, addresses, diagnoses, abuse reports, legal matters, passwords, confidential stories, or other sensitive information. Youth and vulnerable-adult records must not be stored in the app.
The release does not request Internet, camera, microphone, location, contacts, notifications, storage, calendar, Bluetooth, phone, SMS, body-sensor, advertising, or other dangerous permissions. Android may display platform-internal permissions generated by the operating system or application framework; these do not give the app access to personal content or a network.
The app has no account, login, registration, membership, cloud profile, or authentication system. Therefore there is no account data or remote account-deletion process. The in-app Clear controls remove app-managed local preferences and notes. Uninstalling the app also removes its app-managed local storage, subject to Android device behavior.
Ember & Word contains no advertising, analytics, attribution, behavioral tracking, remote configuration, crash-reporting service, social SDK, payment SDK, marketing SDK, or third-party data-collection library. The app does not use an advertising identifier, fingerprint a device, or build a user profile.
Because the app does not transmit app data, it does not sell, rent, share, or disclose app-managed data to advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, other nonprofits, churches, or commercial partners. A person with access to an unlocked or compromised device may still see local app content; device access is outside the app's control.
Source addresses are shown as plain reference text. The app does not open them, fetch their content, verify their availability, or send referrer data. There is no email intent, browser intent, contact form, sharing, clipboard, or export function. Contact occurs outside the app by postal mail. Any separately visited website or communication service has its own terms and privacy practices.
Local preferences, held-page IDs, the Carry title, and optional notes remain until the user clears the relevant data, clears app storage in Android settings, or uninstalls the app. The publisher does not receive these records and therefore cannot view, retain, retrieve, or delete them remotely.
Clear Note removes the active note. Clear Activity removes Hold and Carry state. Clear All Local Data removes notes and app-managed preferences. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for all app-managed domains. Deletion is immediate from app preferences, but secure physical erasure depends on the device, operating system, and storage state.
Offline design, minimal storage, no network permission, disabled backup, and user-controlled clearing reduce exposure. The app does not add separate encryption, biometric access, or a secret vault. Device locks, operating-system updates, physical control, and avoiding sensitive free text remain important. No local application can guarantee security on a rooted, infected, shared, or unlocked device.
The app does not knowingly collect data from children and does not enable chat, public profiles, messaging, friend or follower systems, precise location, targeted advertising, attendance, or one-to-one adult-youth contact. Family prompts are adult-led and optional. If a child or any person reports danger, abuse, neglect, exploitation, or immediate harm, stop the activity and contact appropriate local emergency or safeguarding resources.
The app supports voluntary faith reflection and ordinary community practices. It does not diagnose, prevent, treat, cure, monitor, or promise an outcome for any physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, family, addiction, financial, or legal condition. It does not replace clergy accountability, medical or mental-health care, legal or financial advice, trained safeguarding practice, or emergency services. In immediate danger, stop using the app and seek appropriate real-world help.
A future app release may update this policy if features or law change. A material change should be shown with a new effective date in the app and on the public policy page before the changed feature is distributed. Users may avoid optional notes, use only read-only content, clear local data, or uninstall the app at any time.
